Sometimes, it takes a life-changing experience to realize what you really want to do with your life. That’s what happened to the owner of The Knitting Nook, Lisa Plourd, when she fell through the ice and ended up in the emergency room.

After her recovery, Lisa decided to combine her favorite things: eating, drinking, and knitting, to create a neighborhood hangout where anyone can come in for a meal, learn to knit, and browse the selection of yarns for their next project.

Learn more about Lisa’s backstory from a recent article in The Forecaster. The Knitting Nook was also spotlighted on local ABC news station WMTW.

You can find the latest information, events, and store hours on The Knitting Nook Facebook page, also follow on Instagram and at their website.

In the video we discussed a few of the yarns that Lisa carries including Maine-based Swans Island and the luxurious Juniper Moon Yarns.
